Mission 6 Wave didn't land

Hi I was flying formation for wave to make his landing at Khasab, he completely passed the airport and continued south as if he was going to the carrier and I got a mission failure. I'm not sure what happened to the scripting but we flew over the peninsula and as soon as we got feet wet it failed the mission. I don't have a track file unfortunately.

Hi, sorry, do not know when ED will release the update, only they know. 
I sent the fix quite a while ago and it will definitely be in the next update.

If you ever get issues, check out this forum as the updates can break campaigns that were previously working fine quite often,

I'm also waiting for the update. Of course I could skip this mission but the campaign is so fun to fly that I just don't want to do this.

After feeling like I had totally let Wave down three consecutive times, and flying ever closer formation.... I am so relieved to learn it's just DCS AI doing AI things. Thanks!

Rolling back to 2.8.0.33006 Open Beta appears to resolve the issue for now.

If you install stable version 2.7.18.30765, you can play missions 6 & 8 on that, and the rest on the current Open Beta, copying the logbook.lua between the versions to save your progress:

• C:\Users\you_user_name\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\logbook.lua
• C:\Users\you_user_name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\MissionEditor\logbook.lua

or probably easier, roll back to 2.8.0.33006 Open Beta, from a command prompt run:
C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin>DCS_updater.exe update 2.8.0.33006@openbeta

Hey guys. Had wave fly carrier direction then mission fail as well. Still waiting for an update to fix AI? 
 

I joined up on him and triggered the the “am I ok” dialog from wave. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Were all four bandits killed? There will be a radio message confirming this.

Are you running any mods? 

If you have Tacview  a file of the flight would be really useful in identifying the issue.

I will check it out.

Pretty sure they were all downed. No mods. Will play again and let you know if there is repeat.

HI , thanks, let me know, as like to fix any new issues in my campaigns as soon as I can. 

Would suggest you install Tacview in any event, it is free and a perfect tool for analysing your flight in a way you cannot perceive in ED. It's feed back will definitely improve your flying and combat. Unfortunately DCS tracks do not work very well.

Can you confirm are you in open beta or stable versions of DCS, thanks.

Tacview attached (please excuse my shoddy general and formation flying, was first time with headtracker and it wasn't setup and I wasn't used to it - yes thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Great fun, and forcing me to learn much more about the aircraft, many thanks!

Thanks for the Tacview, could see the issue straight away.

If you don't know which version you will probably be on Stable.  You have to to select Open beta from the downloads. I have fixed this issue back in January but it may not have filtered to the stable version yet. You can check this by starting the mission where the screen shows you the brief. If you pan down the page to the bottom and just above 'KNOWN THREATS' and below the text above, 'Good Luck enjoy', there will be number. Versions 13 and 14 have the fix but 12 will not.

The function of open beta is for people who want the latest updates DCS can offer. The downside is there are obviously a few more bugs as improvements are being issued to the masses for the first time.  I, like all campaign creators, work in open beta. There is always a delay between updates being passed from beta to stable which can sometimes be months. I think this is what may have happened here.  If your version is 12 or below this is why it is not working correctly. This as a result of a past change to the DCS AI which impacted the mission and the fix has not got to stable yet.

Let me know what version you have.

If you want the latest of things you can convert to Open beta and there is plenty of guidance on this in the forum.
