Hi,

When practising autos I find that the engines are still clearly driving the rotors even though they're at idle. Having suffered a double-engine failure in the sim before, the behavior is NOT the same.

Is this correct? I find rotor RPM to be far more sensitive to collective and g loads when both engines are stoppped than when they're idling.

Best regards,

Tango.

Idle engine input is far from negligible.

I appreciate that - it was just the way it was talked about a little while ago that had me wondering.

Thanks for the link!

Best regards,

Tango.

In fact, you can take off with the engines on Idle if I remember correctly... I did it several times before I knew I had to pull the Automatic Engine Power levers with the PGup Key.

Left Windows key + End ensures there is no engine assist and removes the temptation of ejection or throttle up if you don't like how it is going :D

The engines controlled either by collective or throttles. The inputs of them are mixed - that's why throttle assy is mounted on the collective lever.

Generally, throttles adjust power rating set for certain collective position.
