TOMCATZ Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 (edited) Hello and good morning, DOWNLOAD of newest version of the AI MiG-23 replacement: https://www.mediafire.com/file/trqpute3b9ibgd9/TOMsMiG23-MOD_V2.0.rar/file Before you overwrite or replace a file, please create a backup copy first. This mod replaces the AI model for the MiG-23 and features the MLD and MF variants. It comes with skins for the Soviet, Syrian, Polish and East German air forces. In the early '70s, it was the state-of-the-art fighter designed to counter American and European fighters such as the F-4 Phantom or the F-104 Starfighter. The MiG-23 was never designed as a "dogfighter", but rather as a ground-controlled interceptor. To this end, the MiG carried R-24 missiles, which were infrared and radar guided. The tactic was to fly the MiG behind an enemy aircraft without using the radar. Once in position, the command was given to activate the sensors and fire the primary missiles in a single attack before escaping at high speed. However, despite the sound design, the MiG-23 was too expensive and complex, meaning the older MiG-21 is still in service. In the '80s, with the emergence of more modern jets such as the Tomcat, Eagle and Falcon, the MiG-23 was no longer competitive, but could still pose a threat if used within its limits and tactics. For the mod: To switch between variants, please change the board number in the DCS editor: below 5 (0–4) for the MF variant and above 5 (5–9) for the MLD variant. Cheers TOM Edited September 7 by TOMCATZ 4 4 Born to fly but forced to work.

Thank you for your excellent contribution. I have spent weeks modelling East Germany in it's entirety with the various 23 squadrons. The terrible state of the 23 model was ruining all immersion! Would it be possible to get a version of this mod in Saved Games? I know it replaced the native model, I was just curious! 2
TOMCATZ Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 Hello, and thank you very much. To answer: It is possible but I dont know how. So i would be more than happy if somebody would pack it as a mod and provide the MiG23 to the community in "DCS user files" If somebody is interested about the 3ds files please contact me. Everybody can use my mod in order to share, modify - all permissions are given. Thanks again and cheers TOM 1 1 Born to fly but forced to work.

TOMCATZ Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 Hi Thanks In the Editor use the MiG 23 and just Chance the last digit of the bord number in order to switch between both variants. Cheers Tom 1 Born to fly but forced to work.
NomadActual Posted September 15 Posted September 15 No problem! I am using your model with great success. Really changes the feel of airfields and GDR training airspace on my server. I was just curious as I wanted to put it into an easily accessible modpack for REDFOR players. Once again, great job, and thank you! 1
Chap2012 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Did the russian machine gun infantry ever get added? And did the invisible wall for the trenches ever get fixed?
Chap2012 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 @TOMCATZ So doing some testing. Your equipment cover works perfectly fine. Your trench has an invisible wall on just one side. So you flip the thing around towards the enemy and it "works." Tried with currenthills infantry. Machine gunners, and atgms. However, I assume the Collison model is just twice as big as the trench because when shooting around the trench it does the same thing.
