I'm also curious if you can use the Z-Axis with DCS, as I haven't been able to find a game yet which does! Thanks.
Sunjah Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) Yes, it works quite nicely. I had this one for years, but have used gamepads a lot lately. When Black Shark came out I used this one (and yes, you can map all axes for whatever you would like), but then decided to go Saitek X-52Pro. I have never had a HOTAS (Hands-on-Throttle-and-Steering) setup before, and I am really enoying this one. If you fly for a while and like it, consider going HOTAS. I found that there were just not enough commands on the ExtremePro3D. Not that it is bad, but the other one has 3 Hat-switches (mine are 4-way, but you can program 8-function if you want to do so), 16 buttons, mouse-emulation (which works fairly well), a mouse wheel, a slider, a mouse-wheel-button, one of the 16 buttons is a two-stage trigger and it has an MFD which displays commands. Very cool. Then, it has a dial, you can program 3 completely different sets of commands from the list above by just switching the dial. I have "combat," "flight" and "Takeoff/Landing" as my 3 different sets. (Then, if you want to go sick-o [like this isn't already?], you can program the pinky-switch and the clutch from the 16 buttons to be a mode switcher, so you can have the dial represent 6 instead of 3 different modes, each with ALL commands above at your fingertips...actually, I suppose you could use both the pinky and clutch buttons and get 9 sets from the dial...ahhh, the possiblities) I enjoyed it with my ExtremePro3d...I LOVE it with my Saitek X-52Pro! Boulund Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 DCS works perfectly with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I use it as well and if you do a search for it on the forums I think you will find another thread with someone asking the same thing, in which I posted my config for this joystick.
