minimi66 Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Hi folks, I am having a problem with the trim hat on the above grip and it is saying in Sim App Pro that i need new the firmware (not sure if that is causing the problerm, but everything else is working fine). I have been unable to locate any specific firmware file for the F-16EX Grip on the WinWing Software downloads page? It looks like every other device is there but not the F-116EX Grip (not the Orion Base, which has latest firmware installed and is working fine). If anyone has the latest firmware file for this joystick grip please PM me and i will give details etc? See image below. Everything was working fine a day or so ago. All cables, connections etc have been checked, reconnected etc. All other devices ok as well? Thanks. rob10 Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 There is currently a bug in the SimAppPro software that so it keeps telling you to update firmware even though you are on the current firmware. Ignore it for now. There is a new SimAppPro update that I haven't downloaded yet, so maybe it's fixed in that. What problem are you having with the trim hat switch?
Zone5 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 There seems to be more to it than that. I was away for this past week. Prior to that, SimAppPro worked like a charm (I forget the precise release number as I didn't pay attention, since it was working fine). I returned, to find that it attempted to update and got hung. After stopping it, and attempting to restart it, I was never able to get it to update OR to run. I uninstalled it, deleted all the residual files, downloaded the 1.8.22 version installer, and installed it. It appeared to install correctly, but when it starts it goes to the device screen, shows no devices (I have an Orion 2 base with F-16EX stick and an Orion 2 Throttle installed--BTW, they work fine except for the stick shaker without SimAppPro), and is functionally hung (responds to no commands). Task Manager shows 4 copies of the program running, but they cannot be suspended. Uninstalling leaves a single process active, but doing nothing, and unable to be terminated. Shut-down and Restart allow the process to be suspended, and the remaining files to be deleted. I've done this about 10 times now with no improvement. Running Windows 10. Something is wrong either with the app itself (which their website suggests is actually a Beta version, but is the only one available), or with their servers. Will check with their CS system, but wondered if anyone else was having issues. Thanks!
