  1. My results are pretty unimpressive so far. My son and I have managed to get the F-14 intercom working, but only in "MIC ON" mode--PTT works on his end but not mine (yes, bindings are done). Transmissions between any other aircraft basically don't work. PTT turns red outline, or sometimes yellow outline, but no audio. Occasionally (and apparently randomly) he can hear me even so, or I can hear him, but it isn't consistent enough to actually sort out what is happening. Nice to know I am not crazy (at least about this! ).
  2. There doesn't seem to be a final resolution to this issue in this thread--it seems to have just died off. I can confirm that the problem still exists (and seems to be somewhat linked to high CPU usage states, like animations on the SC deck, or LUA files (e.g., AirBoss). I have been running an HP Reverb G2 V2 via OpenXR at 100% resolution, with reprojection and no FSR/CAS. I get a nice smooth 60 FPS and then when I hit the deck or the groove it drops to a steady (and fairly miserable) 22 FPS. About 30-40% of the time ALT-TAB x 2 will fix it, and the rest of the time it won't. It is also somewhat inconsistent. It is definitely not heat related (It happens sometimes within 10 minutes of me getting into DCS). It doesn't seem to be effected by FSR/CAS, Motion Reprojection, or resolution/scaling (I've tried about all the combos I can think of). Anybody out there still interested in this/have any ideas? Does this with OB MT and ST. AMD R7 7800X3D/64 GB Cosair DDR5 5400/MSI Tomahawk X670E/RX 7900 XTX (I know, it's not Nvidia, but it does a vary passable job in VR and it was $600 less than a 4090...)
  3. Thanks, Reflected. I'll try it in ST shortly just for kicks. I just love this campaign, it really does feel like being in a training squadron (I was working for NASA in the early 80's and was taught to fly in VT-2 because NASA needed me trained, so I've been in a training squadron, but not ever in a RAG... and a T-34B is a LONG way from an F-14B...).
  4. Still happening with 2.8.8.43489. Just did the night AAR again, and Paco just sat there going round and round with the tanker for about 20 min (the F-14 has great endurance with full tanks at 240 KTAS...;-). I'm not gutsy enough to try to knock him off... Ryzen 7 7900 X3D/RX 7900XTX.
  5. First off, congratulations to OnReTech on the launch. I have been waiting for this for a long while. It is clear that it is still truly "early access", but it looks very good. I expect it will only get better. Great work, guys, and please keep it up!
  6. So this gets more interesting: I decided to try to re-fly the previous mission. It loaded, I flew it to completion (didn't do as well this time as last, but c'est la guerre), and now voila, the next mission (Exposure) loads without an issue. Works in OBMT, as well as straight OB. Not sure what the deal is, but there you have it. Bug fixed (sort of--at least this is a good work-around).
  7. I have been re-flying the Zone 5 campaign, and really enjoying it, currently on the "Exposure" mission. Updated yesterday to newest version of Open Beta (2.8.3.38090) and find that it hangs while loading at the "Post Sim Start" point every time. Happens with Multi-threading as well as single thread. DCS Log attached. I can't sort it out. Anybody else seen this? I'd really like to get back to this one... dcs.log
  8. Problem solved: Apparently Citrix disrupts the function of SImApp Pro (and a bunch of other things). I had it installed for work, and it was interfering. Once removed, it works like a charm. Will also notify WW CS so they know.
  9. That was the first this I thought of. Firewall pass through checked and in place. Antivirus deactivated. Multiple trials with both 1.8.22 and 1.8.23 Same results. Run as Administrator (and also not). Same results. There is clearly SOMETHING it is not playing well with, but I can't sort it out.
  10. Since the end of FEB I have had the problem that SimApp Pro doesn't work. Despite multiple reinstallations, at some point during the period from 15 FEB to 25 FEB, it stopped functioning for my machine (I was away, so I don't know precisely when it stopped). When I came back from a trip it tried to update, stopped, and that's how this began. Both the most recent version (1.8.22) and the current one (1.8.23) don't seem to function. The software loads to a point (opens the main window, but doesn't detect any devices) and then stops, the window closes, but 4 process are left running in the background (all named "simapppro.exe") one of which cannot be stopped even with Task Manager. I have submitted a ticket to Customer Service, which resulted in a statement by them that they needed to "remotely operate" my computer. The felt the need to specifically tell me several times that my "privacy would be respected" (methinks they dost protest too much...), which I am not comfortable with. 1) Has anybody else had any problems like this? 2) Has anybody had any experience with WinWing remotely operating their computer? Am I being overly paranoid? 3) Any better ideas? The hardware still works fine, and I can use it in DCS, Falcon BMS and MSFS without any issues, but without the software support I can't use the stick shaker (not a huge loss, frankly), but I also can't redesignate axes (which might be a problem at some point).
  11. There seems to be more to it than that. I was away for this past week. Prior to that, SimAppPro worked like a charm (I forget the precise release number as I didn't pay attention, since it was working fine). I returned, to find that it attempted to update and got hung. After stopping it, and attempting to restart it, I was never able to get it to update OR to run. I uninstalled it, deleted all the residual files, downloaded the 1.8.22 version installer, and installed it. It appeared to install correctly, but when it starts it goes to the device screen, shows no devices (I have an Orion 2 base with F-16EX stick and an Orion 2 Throttle installed--BTW, they work fine except for the stick shaker without SimAppPro), and is functionally hung (responds to no commands). Task Manager shows 4 copies of the program running, but they cannot be suspended. Uninstalling leaves a single process active, but doing nothing, and unable to be terminated. Shut-down and Restart allow the process to be suspended, and the remaining files to be deleted. I've done this about 10 times now with no improvement. Running Windows 10. Something is wrong either with the app itself (which their website suggests is actually a Beta version, but is the only one available), or with their servers. Will check with their CS system, but wondered if anyone else was having issues. Thanks!
