imacken Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 For the last year, I have dumped my TrackIR and am using the Tobii ET5 in DCS (and other games). The freedom of not having a big plastic thing strapped to my head is amazing! Anyway, with the vast majority of the (almost 200) games supporting ET5 having native support, what is the likliehood of DCS doing this at some point? Currently, we have to use Tobii GameHub for DCS, which is OK, but nothing like as good as native support would be. 3 Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box
Wacko_ZA Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Seconded, it works beautifully with MSFS! I wish DCS would also adopt native support.
Captain Chuck Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 (edited) I have been using Tobii 5 now for 2 years an just this week gone back to my old head tracker, because I finally realized that the Tobii was terrible for me in a dogfight. I feel so much better now that I can actually see my 6 again. I can actually see the BF-109 before it blows me away, now. I could never get the Tobii adjusted well enough for proper use. And it's not like I didn't experiment enough with the settings, either. It is a shame though because I loved not being confined to wearing a stupid contraption on my head feeling like a nerd. Maybe Tobii needs to make some adjustments to its own parameters. Edited June 21, 2023 by Captain Chuck Ryzen 7 7800; GTX 4070; 32 GB RAM; Monitor 27" 1440p
imacken Posted June 21, 2023 Author Posted June 21, 2023 Surely not being able to see your six is just a sensitivity setting issue. I have no problem seeing my six with a yaw sensitivity of 2.0 in GameHub.
