RedeyeStorm Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Hi All, I am using the Valve Index so I am using SteamVR which works much better with this headset then OpenXR. The first time I fired up DCSMT I was pleasantly surprised that I gained 20 fps unit I started my jet (AV8B) and the mfd's where much harder to read and flickring a bit. Some investigation showed that is was because no supersampling was applied through the SteamVR. In the App under 'Video' you can set the standard setup. Mine was like this: Under 'Video' you can then setup VR per aplication. I did so for DCS but you can only select it with DCS running. For DCSST my setting was: However in DCSMT I cannot select DCS in the upper bar. The result was that I ran DCS with only the Global setting of 100%: 2016x2240. Which off course explains my fps gain. Still get some but not that spectaculair.
flyingcyrus Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 I noticed that too, and put it on the fact that my SteamVR is now configured to be OpenXR runtime. As I never used OpenXR with SteamVR before, could you confirm that the per-app setting is available with the single-thread version of DCS ? 10700K / 4090 / 32Go / 34" curved Gigabyte / Reverb G1 / Thrustmaster hardware among other harderware things. I find your lack of FPS disturbing... C8<]
RedeyeStorm Posted March 12, 2023 Author Posted March 12, 2023 @flyingcyrus, can confirm it works fine with ST. I haven’t noticed if MT defaults to OpenXR. I think not for me as the Index is SteamVR native and not WMR.
flyingcyrus Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Actually OpenXR and WMR are different things, the first beeing an API , the latter a runtime. I think you can. As well as openVR is the default API used by SteamVR. As a consequence, I think you can give it a try... 10700K / 4090 / 32Go / 34" curved Gigabyte / Reverb G1 / Thrustmaster hardware among other harderware things. I find your lack of FPS disturbing... RedeyeStorm Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Indeed I found the option in Steam to use OpenXR overlay. Still no joy onn5he per aplication video.
