Two controllers with the same name conflict, rename?

I have 2 controllers creating conflicts, they have the same name MJ6

If I connect both they don't work properly, axes spike or not recognized

Will re naming the controllers in registry fix this? 

Also there seems to be a lots of controllers in registry with the same name.

Here is a video of how it looks in the registry, should I delete some of those repeated controllers? if so which ones.

There are two controllers named MJ16 but registry shows 8 with the MJ16 name.
