bumfire Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) The laser standby switch on the targetting mode control panel, in my version of BS, if I click on the switch with the mouse I can hear the switch go click, however if I use a key on the keyboard aka right shift+o to do the same function their is no noise at all, same with if I use my joystick to turn the laser on, their is no sound to the switch. I only get sound for that switch if I physically use my mouse to flip the switch to turn the laser on, ok it isnt that big of a deal, but although the button still works without the sound being present I now have to physically look at the switch instead of just knowing its turned on by hearing it go click like the rest of the buttons. cliffs: Laser standby switch on targetting mode control panel, goes click if I use switch with the mouse. It doesnt go click if I use the default key of right shift + o although the switch does flip up and still works ok ingame, just their is no sound and it also doesnt make a sound if I use the bind on my joystick. Does anyone else experience this ? Mods please close this thread if you wish since the bug is known about and maybe fixed in upcoming patch. Edited February 3, 2009 by bumfire
Allo Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) I have only recently noticed a problem with my Laser Standby Switch(LSS for short, too long to write every time). I lock a target then turn on the LSS and re-lock the target and the distance to target comes up on the Shkval. If it is still out of range of weapons, I switch it off again. After closing the distance some, I redo the process. Ok, the problem is that after I lock the target, the distance comes up and then I click the LSS to the off position, the distance to target SOMETIMES doesn't disappear like it normally does. It's like a roll of the dice. I am clicking it using my mapped joystick button. The reason I do this is I don't want to burn the Laser out. Is this also part of the known bug or am I the only one with this problem. Makes it hard to know weather the LSS is on or off without having to look at the physical position of the switch. Feuerfalke Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I think these ranges are based on movement of yourself and the SHKVALs-movement. If you hover stationary over flat terrain, the distances given are quite accurate, if you fly in wind over uneven terrain this continually calculated data will quickly become inaccurate and if you have area following still enabled will make the SHKVAL tracking ghosts, making the SHKVAL run wild sooner or later. At least that's my understanding of how it works and it corresponds with my observations.
