@Burr I look for ways to enjoy DCS more, and this triggered my attention. I downloaded and looked at this, it does look interesting, but now I wonder, what would be the use in DCS? Do I need to plug in some civilian traffic assets now or what?

I can think of several possibilities. For example, a training map where military flight rules apply in certain areas and you have to follow the civilian rules and routes on the way there and back. This makes the outward and return journey more interesting to fly. Or a mission in which the opponents try to sneak in as civilian planes. And you have to identify them as fighters and intercept them. Or use the waypoints as navigation points to better divide up the wide expanse of water. So there are many possibilities.

Very cool ideas, it is a shame that DCS does not include the logic to fill your ideas. Civilian traffic following civilian airspace and military traffic working in civilian airspace with controllers and all... eh that would be a simulation...
