As per title, i got the latern set up, jester's locked the ground target and i've centered myself on the Lantern. The problem is that the hud itself is always off and never centered.

Is there anything i've done wrong?

Sorry newbie to the f14 here....

The LANTIRN does not provide any information to the HUD, so the HUD is just showing your CCIP line. You can disregard it when dropping GBUs with the LANTIRN.

thanks. Kept thinking to myself was it wind that was causing it to go off or something. Realising this is old tech vs what we get on the f18c lol.

The LANTIRN pod was hacked into the F14 on hindsight. It has no actual integration with its systems.

You are supposed to set your bombing mode to manual instead of Computer Target or Pilot, so that you essentially have no indication and the bombs drop immediately on clicking the release button.

You can repeat the LANTIRN display in your front cockpit and it has the release symbology on the right side. For laser guided bombs, thats accurate enough. For dumb bombs, you will likely not be able to hit the realease button at the exact right moment and miss by a few feet. There is no CCRP/Computer Target mode for LANTIRN deployment.

What you could potentially do is to tell Jester to create a waypoint on the LANTIRN destination, then you at least get some sort of info in your HUD. But for CCRP/Computer Target, you always have to designate visually with the designator button.
