Here is a way to turn off heading-hold

Salute, Great thread by the way, very useful.

The problem I am having is at low speed trying to loose altitude (to land in a compound for example) my 'copter keeps breaking into a bank to the right (I have read and seen videos about a break to the left brought on my rapid collective changes) into an uncontrollable roll.

As soon as I start using trim, things start to go wrong.

I have tried using trim lock, not using it, keeping it pressed in whilst maneuvering then releasing...

I am a new pilot so perhaps it is still down to "noobness". (I have "cut my teeth" on the Gazelle, the Apache is my second helicopter purchase)

I am running an X56 throttle and stick.

Any thoughts from those that know would be very welcome.

Is this repeatable for you?  Can you post a short track so others can watch what is going on and provide some suggestions?

The unwanted roll is a bug. How do you slow down to land? Also, the flight model is still wonky.

@pii I am bringing the nose up and collective down to try and not gain too much altitude

Sound about right but too much Collective down can also cause a roll to the right.

I'm not a pilot so all I can offer is my experience or lack of 🙂 But I'd say "noobness" and wonky flight model at the moment. I had gotten quite good and landings and flying around but something changed after a patch and it's a nightmare now. Sometimes I feel like I'm piloting a boat on rough seas now.

Keep practicing and hope the next patch helps. Good luck
