GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) Would there be a situation where I need to hold down TDC depress while moving the TDC in one of its directions to perform a function? Is there a certain function in say the A2A or A2G radar that would require an action like that? I am mapping my warthog hotas which doesn’t have a 4-way HAT with a depress function suitable for use as TDC (other than a slew w/button mod replacement). GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted June 25, 2023 Author Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) As yes, the F18 had a special option to disable realistic TDC so that one did not require depressing the TDC and moving it at the same time - but it was still problematic for the A/G RDR EXP box/crosshair slew function so I had to map a separate button just for TDC depress. I am wondering (hence the post) if I need to do likewise in the F15E (with my stock Warthog hotas) for certain functions like that. (The F-15E has no special option to disable "realistic TDC" at the moment.) There is a press and bump to a direction commands on the castle switch. But it is not like the Hornets TDC mechanics. 2 hours ago, GrEaSeLiTeNiN said: As yes, the F18 had a special option to disable realistic TDC so that one did not require depressing the TDC and moving it at the same time - but it was still problematic for the A/G RDR EXP box/crosshair slew function so I had to map a separate button just for TDC depress. Notso (SME) goes through almost everything on the tutorial videos. Edited June 25, 2023 by Czar66

Thank goodness it is just castle depress (hold down not req'd), then bump fwd. So I can use a modifier + castle fwd to simulate castle depress. As for the A/G radar Hi Res map box, good thing that holding down of TDC depress is not required to move the box (unlike the F18).
