Lucid484 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Realized that I can't do any proper dogfighting or even be defensive using the hat on my joystick to look around and The G2 is $200 off so it's a no brainer over TrackIR. Looks like OpenXR is the way to go looking at all the threads. Right now I'm running an Intel i9-9900KF (Had it OC'd to 5ghz but don't notice much in terms of frames over the stock speed of 4.68 on all cores so I dropped it again). 32 Gigs of ram. Got 3 Nvme drives and 2 Sata SSD's and a 2080 Super running a 34" LG ultrawide display at 3440x1440. Looks like the G2 will be pushing about 400,000 pixels less than my monitor, so I'm hoping I get decent performance. Currently getting about 75 FPS with 99% at 55ish, sometimes a bit more. CPU utilization never really goes above 75% but GPU is near 100%. Anyone else running a similar setup and can comment on the frames and smoothness? I already warned the wife a 4090 might be in the books, but hoping this is decent enough for now. lol Core i7-930 (2.8 OC to 3.85), ASUS Rampage II Extreme, XFX Radeon 5870, 6 Gigs MUSHKIN DDR3-1600 6-8-6-24, 128 GB Crucial C300 SSD, 500 GB Western 5400rpm Digital Green Drive,ASUS SATA 3 6gbps card.
MAThrasher Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 The G2 has 9.3 million pixels because of both eyes. I used the G2 with a 3070Ti and had a great experience. For the bang for the buck, this is a really good headset! Windows 11, GPU: RTX-4090, Ram: 32gb, CPU: 12700k, Headset: Varjo Aero
McCloud Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) On a 12900k, 3090, M2 and 64gb DDR5. i get about 45 frames in MP on MT. But it is stable. I am unable to run everything on max. Edited July 5, 2023 by McCloud
