I recorded a clip where the sound is glitching , and i dont know why this is happening. It is very frustrating and is destroying halvf of the experience with this game.. here's the clip : something to compare with.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF8o4...eature=related ( what i believe the game should sound like) anyone else have this problem? Help is much appreciated Edited February 23, 2009 by Kevlon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sobek Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 anyone else have this problem? It's a known bug of the current sound engine together with volume problems. As to when they will be fixed, nothing has been said. :( Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Kevlon Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 anyone have a quick fix for this ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RapidllBlade Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Sometimes if you pause the game for a couple of seconds the sound will get back to normal - hitting an exterior view and then back into the cockpit can do the same thing. These have worked for me but only temporarily. BTW - your second link says its a malformed video. RB

H-street Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Try using Vista and 5.1 surrund sound :( probably because DCS doesn't use OpenAL , at least that is my guess. if they are still using Directsound3D then you won't get anything more than 2.1 out of the Vista unless you have an audigy/xfi with alchemy. just a guess since i'm not sure what they are using for sounds.
glottis Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Alchemy does seem to improve the sound situation a lot. It's still not perfect, but better than it was. I don't have weird cuts when changing view, and surround-sound seems to work nicely from within the cockpit... I just used the default settings. EDIT: Using Creative XFi (extreme fatality gamer edition or some rubbish) and Vista x64 with latest drivers & alchemy version.
