Bright periscope at night?

Hello all,

Is the periscope meant to look like this at night? Is this a bug, or am I missing something like some brightness adjustement? 

I was under the impression the periscope was purely optical and wasn't a (IR) camera feed, but maybe I got the wrong end of the stick.

It is a bug, will be looked into.
