104th_Maverick Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 The AI will just send it as soon as it gets to the runway without waiting for the aircraft in front to get airborne. This leads to two aircraft (sometimes 3) all accelerating down the same runway trying to takeoff. Please change behavior to AI will enter the runway when it is occupied but will hold in position and not accelerate until the aircraft in front has cleared the runway and is airborne. Solution western_JPN Posted August 2, 2023 Solution Posted August 2, 2023 About Normal takeoff procedure, you are right. Takeoff clearance message from the tower (ATC) is given after safety airborne of the predecessor --- and more intervals to avoid wake turbulence in civilian airports. To simulate emergency takeoff procedure of military aircrafts, in other words "Minimum interval takeoff" (MITO), current DCS AI behavior is not bad. KC-135s takeoff in 25 seconds intervals in DCS. IRL, USAF tries and succeeds KC-135s MITO in 15 seconds intervals. In September 2021, Fairchild AFB / 92 ARW completed 20x KC-135s takeoff in 5 minutes. About B-52s in Cold war era, they are told also 15 seconds intervals MITO was done. I think .... no need to change takeoff intervals in DCS, now. If possible to command the ATC switching airport / AFB emergency level in missions --- switching long or short takeoff intervals --- in future reworking / evolving whole of ATC functions, that will be great ! 1 Modules: A-10C/II, F-4E, F-5E(Re), F-14A/B, F-15E, F-16C, F/A-18C, AV-8B, FC3, Ka-50-2/3, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, SA342, Mi-24P, AH-64D, CH-47F, P-51D, F4U-1D Maps: Nevada, PG, Syria, SA, Sinai, Kola, Afghanistan, Iraq, CW Germany, Channel, Normandy2.0 Assets etc.: CA, Sc, WW2AP Mods and Skins in User Files: files/filter/user-is-western0221/
