Packman Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Have them all the time... They appear without any visible reason every 20-30 seconds while my FPS is around 60-70. Actually, those are more like "corrections", not freezes, because sometimes i fly straight forward and i get moved backwards. It's especially visible when i start turning in combat, as when such a "correction" happens it's very clearly seen that the velocity vector has changed gradually, and it even makes me loose the enemy sometimes. Actually I've never had such a problem on my old pc (p4 2.8, 1gb ram, radeon 9800). My current configuration is: E8400 3ghz 2x2gb RAM 1066 Radeon 4850 512mb. Has anyone encountered that kind of problem? Any advices? Thanks.
CyBerkut Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I haven't done any multiplayer in BS yet, but what you describe sounds like classic lag. I used to see corrections of a similar sort in MechWarrior in online multiplayer games. We'd see other mechs "moonwalked" backwards, etc. Basically, that is symptomatic of your client and the server getting a bit out of sync, and the change reflecting the updated/corrected position according to the server. It's typically a communications issue (although it could be a server problem, or a client problem). What connection type/speed are you playing over? What connection settings do you have in BS? Is it happening on more than one server (ie. servers hosted in other locations)? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
