Question for Orion 2 base users

Hello all,

First time poster, long time lurker here. I recently treated myself to a second hand Orion 2 base, throttle and F16 EX stick from ebay. All seems good apart from one thing which i'm a little confused about. I notice that there is a significant bump or increase in resistance towards the edge of travel in every direction on the stick before reaching the edge (hope that makes sense).

Is this normal? Sorry if its a stupid question, i'm coming from a T16000m setup so this is my first experience of higher end gear. 

 

Would really appreciate any help.

Hi @Jamie_GYou experience is expected. By your description, it appears that you have 2S cams and probably heavier springs installed. 

In Summary: The "1S" cams will require the same force to move the stick in any direction no matter how far you push/pull. The "2S" cams will require greater force the closer you get to the extremities of the base's range of motion.  

There is no right or wrong feeling here. It all comes down to what you like.  Also, note that most "normal and efficient" flying does not involve moving the flight stick to the maximum range.. again this is your flight simulation game and you can fly your planes any way you want to. All is good as long as you are having FUN!!   : )

That's great, thanks very much for the reply. Good to know there's nothing wrong with it anyway. I'm quite keen to get the spring and cam kit so I can have a play and taylor it to my liking...just a shame it's so pricey / the postage would be so much.
