APG-70 or APG-68 Better ?

Which is the better radar -- APG-70 or APG-68 ?

As in ability to detect ground and air objects, and range.

For the versions depicted in DCS?

Hands down the APG-70 in every cases. AA, ground mapping, ACM, detection range, IFF, NCTR.

 

In DCS, the only thing I can think the APG-68 is better at is having a larger TWS coverage and it has a dedicated surface search mode… But you can do the same with the mapping mode of the APG-70.

Yeah there's no contest even IRL. Although if we're going to go with non AESA radars, the APG-63(v1) (not to be confused with the much older APG-63) is allegedly vastly superior to the APG-70 even.

Interesting to know IRL the 70 is even better than the 68.
