Before considering a ton of various quotes, let me suggest it would be wise to heed the points made by Qcumber earlier, and take him up on his kind offer:

It's really difficult when your starting out with VR to know what is acceptable to you. You might find that you can get what you need with a 4070 or 4080. You might also find that you spend the money on a 4090 and that does not give you what you want. I live in the Cambridge UK area so if you wanted to see how my set up works and are willing to travel give me a shout.

This allows an exceptionally rare opportunity to find out if a system like his (5600X/4070 ) is going to be satisfactory to you, whilst running the same sim, etc that you want.  And it doesn't cost a thing (hopefully lol) save some time and petrol.  OK, maybe a small gesture for him...bring dinner or whatever 😄 😄 😄

@Ghostmaker Anything from the shop that gave you the quote in your original post yet?

Free professional advice: Do not rely upon any advice concerning computers from anyone who uses the terms "beast" or "rocking" to refer to computer hardware.  Just...don't.  You've been warned.

While we're at it, people should stop using the term "uplift" to convey "increase".  This is a technical endeavor, we're not in church or at the movies - and it's science, not drama.

@Ghostmaker Any update?

FWIW I think I'd hesitate to do business with the shop from the original post if they've not responded by now to the inquiry you indicated sending them over a week ago.  Did you hear anything from them?

Also curious to see how you make out 'test driving' with Qcumber.  Any chance to get there yet?

The guy i purchased my Hp Reverb g2 from has been building pc's apparently for 30 odd years for himself and made a list from Scan to run dcs with the reverb, when i rang scan they changed the psu to a 850w from the 750w. Would you change this in anyway to keep the same price point?

Hi all its been a while, ok so not had chance to do anything as yet. However ive got a new spec list for a 4070ti see attached.. what would your thoughts be for this and also ive spoken with Scan sales guy for nearly an hour today. Top guy. Who said try there 3xs gamer 4090.. also see attached. Which one is better suited with the vr setup. And would the pre built 4090 they supply do more than the job for DCS

Scan 3XS Gamer 4090 pre build

Or

Scan pre built 3XS Gamer 4080

Ive blown the budget out of the water now. I assume the pre built 4090 will smash the rest?
