peterjohnkerner Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 DCS Black Shark is the best simulator I have seen so far based on reviews. I ordered the product and paid the $49.99 USD amount for it and recieved the confirmation to my peterjohnkerner@yahoo.com email address from the donotreply@protx.com email address, and I was able to create a username and download the manuels, but I lost my password to log into the site. I emailed the "forgot your password" link with no response for 2 days. Can a Moderator help me out? Just send my my username and password to peterjohnkerner@yahoo.com. Thanks!

EtherealN Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I doubt the moderators can access your username and password. (Most systems online use a little d-base trick whereby not even a sysadmin with root can see your password - on login the query to the d-base will just give a reply of either 1 for "correct" or 0 for "incorrect". This is why many systems will not send you your old password but rather create a new one for you.) They more likely can see about escalating the issue to a sysadmin though. Just a question though - you say you "emailed" the "forgot your password" link? I assume you clicked the link since I believe that is how the system works. (At least, that's how they usually work.) EtherealN Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Oh, and another thought struck me - that being a yahoo.com mail adress you have there, have you checked the spam filters in it? Since an automated password retrieval system will most definitely look automated many mail providers will mark it as suspected spam and filter it out. It is therefore entirely possible that your password was sent to you but your mail filter killed it. I really really really would encourage you to not use a mail service like yahoo for any kind of even remotely important mail service. The best is always to get your own hosting account someplace or use a mail service that features customizable filters. (I believe google mail allows you to govern your own filters, but I am unsure. I use the mails of one of my six three-score and six domains myself, with my own filters, for that very reason.)
