McGraw Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I was messing around trying to understand the yellow radar marks and how to find them. Hit the sam search radar which disappeared. Only other thing I could see that might have a radar is the atc truck. Hit that but not sure if it counts as a proper target. Is that the other radar or is there something else? Can only see ranks, APCs, below, trucks, artillery? and jeeps none of which extinguished the second yellow icon after I hit them. Don't fancy struggling like this in a live mission
Floyd1212 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 What was the symbology showing on the ASE page, and in what direction was it coming from? Maybe one of the ships? PrtScrn is the default button for taking screenshots in DCS. They end up in the C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ScreenShots folder.

Not a ship as it's to my left when the coast is to my right. It also flips from in front to behind as I pass over the intersecting runways where the targets are.
NAJ Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 If it is the Caucasus instant action range mission, then I think that the ASE is indicating both the tracked Straightflush radar (co-located with the SA-6 launchers to the west of the intersection) and another truck-mounted radar (Flat Face?) located approx 50m away on the same section of runway. When you hit the tracked Straightflush, you might find that the Flat Face drives off a few yards (sometimes onto the grass / near a tree which means it might not be obvious), but is still transmitting.
