Hi all, I fairly new to DCS world and purchased the F14 and super carrier. I have watched some videos out there on adding planes to carriers and I managed to do that, but how do I place my own F14 on a super carrier on a ramp location for a cold and dark start? I basically want a simple scenario for the F14 to have a cold and dark start on a super carrier, take off from it, do some flying around to get to know the plane a bit and practice landing on it.

Thanks

Bill

Under the F14 have a look at "Instant Action" you will probably find a mission that fits your training requirements

Sorry - just re-read -

In your mission place the plane on a carrier, set it to start cold on parking.

Run the mission via launch multiplayer (although you will be only one on it.)

DCS places planes differently in multiplayer to single player

Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. We are a group based on having fun (no command structure, no expectations of attendance, no formal skills required, that is not to say we can not get serious for special events, of which we have many). We play DCS and IL2 GBS. We have two groups one based in North America / Canada and one UK / Europe. Come check us out.

To set a plane to be player controlled it need to have the skill setting "Player" or "Client". Player for single player or when there is only one plane to fly, Client for multiplayer or if you want multiple choices for planes in single player.

Also realize that on the carrier you can't chose a specific parking spot.  You can at a land airport, but due to AI pathing on the carrier the mission editor picks your specific parking spot.

If you go to:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/

You should be able to search for something that will do what you're discussing. You will find "single mission" user files listed under the "Type"  menu option and then you can place this mission file in your saved games directory,  you will have to look that up depending on what type of install you have.

Welcome to the obsession!
