VPC Shadow's Trophy 2023 Tournament!

Hello pilots!

The VIRPIL Controls team is pleased to announce the opening of our annual helicopter racing tournament; the Shadow’s Trophy Tournament for the 2023 season!

Starting from today - October, 27th, until November 26th, pilots can take part in the qualifying stage.

This year the rules and the course have undergone a number of changes, which aim to increase the attractiveness of the tournament to all participants!

Race track:
The first part, the snake, which requires not only deep knowledge of aerodynamics and flight characteristics, but also good rotary-wing piloting experience to achieve with speed, has remained the same.

A new highlight of the route was the tricky chicane in the second half of the course. An ideal trajectory is only possible with the correct choice of speed and entry point.

At the same time, the racing track retained the opportunity for both experienced and novice pilots to have fun and practice flying!

The most important change, which we already talked about earlier, was the increase in the number of groups, and now it is equal to the number of helicopter modules in DCS World:

• Ka-50 / Ka-50-III “Black Shark”
• AH-64D “Apache”
• Mi-24P "Hind"
• Mi-8MTV-2 "Hip"
• UH-1H “Huey”
• SA342L “Gazelle”

6 groups! 6 podiums! 18 winners!

This year a pilot is allowed to participate in only one Final. That is, if a participant, based on the results of the Qualification, took one of the first six places in various categories, they are able to choose the helicopter category they will fly for the Final. The Qualification result of such a pilot in other categories will be canceled, and the composition of the participants in these categories will be determined without taking into account the result of this pilot.

This will allow more pilots to take part without seeing the same names flying in all categories!

And, of course, the main thing that the applicant community is always interested in is the Prize Fund.

1st Place:

• VPC SharKa-50 Collective Grip or VPC Hawk-60 Collective Grip at the pilot's choice.

Also, the champion in each group receives any 1 (one) module for DCS World developed by the tournament's partner studio — Eagle Dynamics!

2nd Place:

• VPC Rotor TCS Base

All pilots who complete the course at least once in the Qualification stage:

Rotary-wing pilots have a whole month ahead of them to train and get their spot in the Finals! Qualification will last until 26th November and the most experienced (or lucky!) pilots will continue the battle for the podium in the Finals (Top 6x6) on December 2, 2023!
