WMR and 2.9

Good afternoon well I’ve probably spent 48 hours trying to solve the latest update with my HP 1440 WMR headset.

 

Seemed like the first update did pretty good and then the second following update everything fell apart.

The machine would basically ratchet and bog down to where it stops working. Once you got past the first main menu can you try to select either a mission or multiplayer then everything starts to fall apart the only way I can usually get out is to do control, alt delete.

I was using steam in an order to try and solve what’s going on right now I switch to open XR or at least I am trying to and multithreading.

I’m at a loss I don’t know where to go next I would like to keep what I have so I can keep my control bindings if possible I could use any help you have offer

So to clearify:

2.9 had worked for you until the minipatch last week?

Did you use the multithreaded version before?

If not: Have you used OpenXR before?

Have you tried DCS repair already?

Do you have any mods installed?

2.9 worked on first run..  I have an older WMR HP1440.  I was not running MT and was still using steam VR.  Then patch came out and the graphics essentially stalled. Big delay stutter affect with maybe 5 seconds between pauses.

In an attempt to repair I tried MT version and OpenXR thinking it may solve.  The problem remained..

Just type „dcs“ in the search window usually bottom left in windows. Then you should find DCS repair there. Just execute that…choose the long repair just to be sure.

So as I understand you, the single threaded version did not work either?

And may I also ask about your other system specs? CPU? GPU?

Correct after patch ST did not work either.  
 

im in car for a bit , but when home I’ll gather data.  GCard is a 3090

What exactly do you mean by that?

I believe I have the input string correct force VR.. can you confirm the complete string in the opening properties 

you asked for my system values is that the issue?

For the MT version the input string is not neccessary any more.

Your specs are ok. Not stellar for VR, but they should not be the source of your problem either.

Are you using the standalone version of DCS or the Steam version?

Also I believe maybe you need to set OpenXR as your runtime.

Do you have the „OpenXR Toolkit for Windows Mixed Reality“? It‘s on the Microsoft Store.

Download and install the software from the MS store. There you should be able to set OXR as WMR runtime.

Much better…followed your instructions.  Deleted old OpenXR and downloaded new.  Still tweaking , but function thank you
