H60MTI Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 So, I created a mission in the editor. I'm flying the mission I created. I've noticed that some enemy planes will land, park, and then just disappear from the map. DId bad guys just take their jet a go home or something? Haven't seen that before...I've got my Warthog loaded for bear to blow their bunkers up and they just disappeared. I have nothing to blow up....Anyone know what's up with that or have seen that before? Former SSG US Army UH-60A/L/M Crewchief "2 To Fly!"

For reasons that are not documented (but we can guess at: performance), AI (air) units that have reached their final waypoint first land, the pilots usually get out, and a few minutes later they can both become deallocated - they have done their duty and DCS seemingly regards them as no longer needed (else they would have further action queued up - remember that significant aspects of DCS's mission architecture were essentially designed in the late 90s of the last century and carried over to today. Sometimes - maybe often - it shows.) Edited November 7, 2023 by cfrag
H60MTI Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Well that sucks...Be nice to place a 2000lb JDAM through the top of their bunker and blow their nice plane to history. No fun Former SSG US Army UH-60A/L/M Crewchief "2 To Fly!"
Mr Nobody Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 I haven't tested this so it's a shot in the dark, but could you set their landing waypoint to the "Rearm/Refuel/Repair" type and then make the timer extremely long so that they feasibly won't leave for a very long time, well past the point where you'd expect the mission to be over?
