red-machine Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Hi community! :) I have a notebook with this components: Core2Duo T9300, 3GB Ram, Geforce M8600GT. I read that the Black Shark game does not support mobile graphic cards. Is that true? Will I be able to play the game on my notebook with M8600GT? If not, is there any solution, except buying new hardware? :D
EtherealN Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Mobile cards are not "supported" since they very often are customized by the laptop manufacturer. However, my laptop with a 2GHz C2D (can't remember the model name), 2GB RAM and a GeForce M8600GT (256MB integrated VRAM) is well capable of running Black Shark in an acceptable manner. However, on that machine it's the CPU that is the main limitation, graphics card is very secondary to CPU for this game, but since the laptop you have is better than my laptop it should work. ...unless your manufacturer did something seriously wonky with the GPU. :P Highly unlikely that there will be such problems but ED has to put that notice up because they never know. red-machine Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Well, that's great news !! Thanks:thumbup: I also read in this forum, that guys play with HP Pavillons, so it should be no problem with my Samsung. So let's :joystick:
GGTharos Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 It plays on my laptop that is lower-specced (M8200, 1.9 Ghz dual AMD) but, that's no guarantee it'll be as good or better on yours. Expect to have to turn a few things down, but shouldn't be too bad :) Hi community! :) I have a notebook with this components: Core2Duo T9300, 3GB Ram, Geforce M8600GT. EtherealN Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 red-machine, the notebook I have is an HP Pavilion. :) Pavilion dv9000 series to be exact. So if you have a similar system it should be allright. Also, if you use Vista, make sure to test the affinity tools, they can do absolute miracles for lower-end systems in particular.
