Annoying issue with joystick in VR

I am using a Virpil alpha grip and I get an issue using the thumbwheel whereby if I press the thumbwheel up or down, the view in VR snaps sideways and back very quickly each time I press.....

I have checked all the bindings in DCS and cant see anything relating to views bound to this button ( I do have various functions bound for different modules of course, but nothing view related. Of course, 2 D settings such as the zoom view axis do not work in VR, so I am wondering what can possibly be causing this? 

Its only started recently. Can anyone give any ideas or thoughts where I might look to find the culprit?

to help find the culprit:

In DCS ... under controls select UI then General then your aircraft.  Under each one press / scroll your thumbwheel and see if something is bound.

Do you use any other software like Vjoy to bind joysticks? If yes then check there

Last... bindings in your HMD software
