Lace Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 It would be great if rather than just an instant direction change at each waypoint/steerpoint, the flightplan showed a calculated turn radius based on the planned speed and aircraft type. This would be especially useful for the Strike Eagle using TFR and coupled AP. The 90's Tornado sim had a similar function and it was great for lining up on attack headings, slotting into valleys, avoiding MEZ, etc. 1 Laptop Pilot. Exorcet Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 This would indeed be useful, and I've seen the Tornado implementation. However the AI has some shortcoming when it comes to formation and navigation, and these predicted turns might not be worth much if the AI can't actually stick to them. Lace Posted November 30, 2023 Author Posted November 30, 2023 Even just as a human pilot planning aid it would be a worthwhile addition IMHO. It is well acknowledged that the AI needs work in many ways. 1 Laptop Pilot. ShuRugal Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 shoot, just fudging it and giving use the radius for a standard-rate turn would help most users immensely. 1
