foobolt Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I wanted to upgrade the toggle switch on my Super Taurus, so I disassembled the device. In particular the DUMP switch should be a lever locking switch to prevent unintended operation. However, I got stuck when I removed the back cover as shown in the photo. I can't see the screws to fix it, but I can't take out this main board. For further disassembly to replace the switch, perhaps the only way is to peel off the double-sided tape that adheres the front plate? (That method is very scary as it might bend or break the acrylic board...) Can anyone give me any hints or advice on how to disassemble this device?
Nightdare Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 You can't simply put on the cover, but have to replace the switch as well? foobolt Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 Well, I want to have a realistic operation of a locking lever switch. I own Winwing's 'Orion2 Throttle Base 10th Anniversary Limited Version', and the lever lock operation of the Master Arm switch attached to it is very nice. That's why I'm particular about this.
Nightdare Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Ah, misread, I thought you needed a flip cover Since I've seen a few WinWing Products with hot glue, simply to prevent user serviceability, it wouldn't surprise me if they glued the pcb to the cover Intel I5 13600k / AsRock Z790 Steel Legend / MSI 4080s 16G Gaming X Slim / Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 64Gb / Adata 960 Max / HP Reverb G2 v2 Virpil MT50 Mongoost T50 Throttle, T50cm Base & Grip, VFX Grip, ACE Interceptor Rudder Pedals w. damper / WinWing Orion2 18, 18 UFC & HUD, PTO2, 2x MFD1 / Logitech Flight Panel / VKB SEM V / 2x DIY Button Box
foobolt Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 (edited) Yes, maybe so... This product is very good, but it doesn't seem like it was designed with disassembly in mind. Edited February 1, 2024 by foobolt
