Ran little Experiment trying to figure out stutters and whatnot.

Hey Everybody,

I, just got done running an experiment with DCS on my monitor and VR with single core and MT. now it was pretty interesting what I noticed.. When I first ran the mission live in VR with MT I noticed minimal spikes in the DCS FPS Graph. and pretty high FPS about 60+ FPS..

Now, when I ran the same mission watching my track file in ST with my monitor it was spiking pretty bad and loss of FPS was dramatic near 20-30FPS with the FPS Graph spiking down. I was getting watching the trk file about 126FPS with my setup and settings in DCS.

I, ran the test again in MT on my monitor watching the track file the FPS we're better and the spikes were there but I noticed about the same spikes using my monitor but with the MT I was getting higher FPS about 162+

I then ran the final test MT in VR watching the trk File and it was like when I first ran it in VR Live.. I had minimal spikes I would only get a minimul Spike when I switched to the front seat and then when I brought up Geoarge Pilot command and then lastly when I brought up the HMD in my monocole.. but the spikes in VR were way less or not as bad as when I used the monitor only. the monitor may have had more FPS but the spikes we're worse.

So maybe ED can look at these log files I will post and see maybe what is going on here.. I am hoping this will help hence why I ran this little experiment..

I also run Process Lasso and set affinity for the mostly HT cores it shows in the logs but I seen a video that the user did similar and it helped. for me I just don't see any 1 core spiking to 100% now it seems more balanced but either way it did not affect my gameplay and the fluidity of the sim..

here are my system spec and options I run. besides running mods from TAZ1004 it was a clean install of DCS with a cleand and repair and I wiped out my FXO and metashaders2 folder so it was as clean as I could get..

One more thingI run a Reverb G2 with 60HZ and I also run OpenXR with 40% REz any higher and my FPS do not maintain 60+FPS.. I think setting the %rez is a key and not ahaving texture at high and texture terrain on low.. just check my settings options screenshot..

IF ED or anybody has any questions about the experimentI did not cover here I will be most interested in giving more info if needed.. I hope this helps the cause.. 🙂

OK everybody,

I just finished up flying the 4ya server with about 15 players. I had zero lag and no game stutter, I did have a very small and brief, spike in the FPS counter Graph but only when someone disconnected from the server.

So Ya, I had a lag free and 60+ FPS MP flight it was smooth as butter for the most part it was a flatline in the FPS GRaph. I will put my log here and Maybe something will show as too why my game is so smooth compared too a lot of other users who report stutters and such in the game which I just don't get it??

I did add 32gb more from for a total of 96GB RAM just for a test. I looked at MSI AB and it reported 49GB RAM and 45GB Page file usage.. I just would like to point out when 2.9 1st dropped I was getting 15-20fps more then I do now.
