I juts setup my Orion 2 HOTAS and one of the first things that I noticed was that when the left and right throttles are locked via the metal pin, there is a small amount of play between each throttle. Maybe a millimeter or two.

I normally wouldn't care about this, although the unfortunate thing is that when I have the throttles locked and push them both to the mil power detent, might right afterburner ignites, while the left engine remains at mil.

It sounds like the slight play between the throttles when they are locked is a common attribute of the Orion 2, so I'm sure I'm not the first person who has had this issue with desynced afterburners when at the mil power detent?

How can I adjust curves, either in simapp pro or in DCS to avoid this issue?

Hi,

1. first step is to calibrate each throttle individually in the Sim Pro software. If you have the finger lifts installed, it make it easier to setup idle, MIL power and full AB;

2. to calibrate AB properly in DCS, look at the thread which is stickied at the top of the forum. I have mine setup so pushing all the way to the detent will put the plane at 100% MIL power;

3. using the lock is a personal choice, I did at first, but with use, I found it easier to leave it unlocked for dual engine planes and move the throttles in unison. It makes it easier to make adjustment, only use one throttle if, say, taxiing on the ground, make small power adjustment, etc. I don't even look at the power settings now when "flying", I just go be feel.
