termishapilot Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Reddit post I made with more information and a picture: https://old.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/1938dph/help_with_helios_please_cant_get_the_game_window/ As mentioned in title, I have two small MFD usb monitors plus my usual triple screen setup. Usually I play with the triple screens in nvidia surround with DCS, but I just bought two screens for my MFD's, so I set it all up in helios. The MFD screens work fine, but the game window doesnt fully stretch across all three monitors. No amount of toggling settings and resolutions in dcs or helios has solved this issue. Does anyone have any ideas or insights into this issue? Its been incredibly frustrating and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! some additional info: all screens are set at 150% display scaling (even mfd's) for consistency, tried at display scaling of 100% on all, still didnt work screens are aligned in windows and helios as followed arranged top left to right: mfd 1, mfd 2, td1, td2, td3 (td=triple display) so total resolution of two 1920x1080 mfd and three 3840x2160 monitors is = 15360x2160. this is also the resolution i have set in dcs per tutorials on helios. tried with nvidia surround both on and off (with the triples as seperate monitors and with them as one giant ultrawide in nvidia surround)

Have you tried putting the mfd screens below your triples in windows? ( just don’t put anything sticking out past the farthest left of the maindisplays, Helios doesn’t like that. ) Ive seen cases where the total resolution gets wider than some video cards can render. There’s quite a few Helios users that use surround with multiple other screens something will wok 1 Intel i7 13700k, ASUS rog strix z790A, 64gigs G.Skill Trident DDR5 @6400Mhz, Nvidia RTX 4080FE, 2x 2TB Samsung M.2 NVME, 2x 1TB Samsung SSD, Corsair RM1000x, Corsair Titan 360 X AIO cooler, Lian Li LanCool 2, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate, VKB STECS , MFG Crosswinds, Track IR5, 48” LG UltraGear OLED & HP 24” touchscreen for Helios, Streamdeck XL, DCS-UFC App, Corsair Virtuoso RGB Headphones
BLAPH78 Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Hi MadKreator I have got exactly the same problem and tried many many configurations (with or without helios, with or without surround) that never worked...did you find a solution, please ? My graphic card is a suprim GTX (a monster)..I cannot imagine she is limited Rgds, Phil.

I’ve been kind of looking around and it seems like you almost need to set up a monitor config manually through dcs, using the 3 screen monitor type as a starting point. Helios just writes the monitor file based on what it thinks that dcs wants. It doesn’t have any actual control over how dcs decides to render across multiple screens. I’m not sure if there is something special about DCS’s built in 3 screen layout or not. I know it’s been done, check out “the warthog project” he uses 3 projectors for the game and Helios for all the gauges and viewport. He has some pretty detailed write ups and videos on his setup. But it’s unknown territory to me. I’m just an average dude that started using helios because I never understood enough about writing my own monitor files to make it work. But my knowledge only extends to the things I’ve experienced and personally setup. So far any user that has had triples, and trying to get them working alongside helios, I’ve never heard from or seen how they actually got it working. I’d love to know because I do get asked quite often, but unfortunately I don’t have a definitive answer. BLAPH78 Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Hi MadKreator, I found the solution by replacing all viewports by displays that matchs exactly Windows Screens (see below) _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('3ASUS'); Description = 'Configuration with 3 identical monitors each with its own camera' displays = { [1] = { x = 0, -- note : x == 0 and y == 0 is always mark primary windows display y = 0, width = 3840, height = 2160 }, [2] = { x = 3840, -- mark that secondary display is on right side of primary display y = 0, width = 3840, height = 2160 }, [3] = { x = -3840, -- mark that third display is on left side of primary display y = 0, width = 3840, height = 2160 }, } It works ! I have copied this code to replace viewports in Helios file (configuration with a fourth touchscreen) and it works as well. I can configure commands now. Rgds, Phil.
