CPT.Vrabel Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Hello, its been some time but i have been able to get settled and get back into DCS. Im using the same Oculus DK2 VR headset ive had for the last two years and i get a lot has changed but my frustrations just continue to grow so im wondering if anyone can help. ill list my PC specs as well as this is a brand new computer first the centering. I have to hit my VR center hotkey sooo many times during flight that its gotten incredibly frustrating very fast. i cant look to my left or right and then return my head back to center without my view being off to the side. trying to dogfight is incredibly frustrating when trying to track an enemy and have to re center 20 times because what was straight is now looking down at say my fuel gauge in the spitfire.. worth noting i only fly WW2 planes till i have time to reset my key binds for the jets i own. the head movement im guessing was changed since i last flew since well you cant stick your head out the window anymore, figured that was the simple way to put it. Is there anything i can do to keep my VR center.. Centered ? why do i have to re center sooo many times in such a short duration ? it almost makes me wanna not even play in VR at all let alone get online and fly which is what i was most excited to do again. PC specs Nvidia RTX 4070 AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. 32gb ram im a forum noob, certainly not a seasoned vet but ive tried searching and finding things with no luck. if theres other forum posts about this im sorry to add to it. just looking for some help cause its really frustrating. ill check back in periodically to see responses. thanks in advance. hoping to get back to happy flying again soon!
Mashmallow Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 The centring is based on ur headset tracking. i have not used Oculus before so i can't really tell you how to improve that. however, i started with reverd g2 and now pimax crystal which uses inside-out tracking. we had to use some form of digital image fixed to our surroundings and the headset would align itself. you could start looking at the headset tracking. Crystal headset also has the option of base station tracking but that is the exact money i am not willing to fork out.
