Hey,

We all know there are regular sales for modules in DCS: World. This not only incentivises long-term users to purchase a module they don't have yet, but also new people who might or might not be coming over from other sims to DCS. One could say this is the first step of what is often called the "on-boarding process". But therein lies also the problem:
Personally I think there should be a higher priority placed on keeping the training missions up-to-date. This not only counts for ED modules, but also third parties. DCS is a game simulator that constantly evolves which is good for us simmers but it also means that:

1. Existing training missions (sometimes quickly) become outdated;
2. New training missions are needed to explain new features.

Now I fully understand that time is precious and personnel allocation has its limits, but consider this if you will:
A new player joins DCS, buys his/her first module and fires up a training mission - say Start-up from cold and dark. Currently, for recent modules there mostly is no problem at all, but especially for modules that were released a few years ago, triggers might or might not work, explanation of features might or might not be up to date, ... There are plenty of examples of this.
Now imagine how that person feels. Yes I know: "RTFM!" but we all have different ways of learning, and some of us appreciate well-fleshed out training missions to get us up and running.
I'd like to suggest a regular review of training missions, say once or twice a year should be sufficient. And in case there is not enough personnel available (I'm thinking of smaller 3rd parties for example), perhaps there might be volunteers in the community who are willing to help out. That would only leave a final review in the hands of the module maker themselves...

Even if you don't want to make/review training missions for every single feature available, please make sure at least the basic stuff is covered and working properly: start-up, INS alignment, navigation, take-off and landing, master modes and basic weapon employment, ...

A few noteworthy examples:
1. The very first training mission for the M2000C doesn't work because the INS alignment procedure doesn't work the way the instructor says it does;
2. There is no training mission for INS alignment in the Mirage F1EE;
3. UH-1 training missions are notorious for triggers not working (granted it's been a while since I have tried one).

Yes I know we have Chuck's Guides (magnificent work thank you) but why do we always have to rely on the community when this should be on the developer's plate? Consider it a matter of professional pride in your work...
Shouldn't keeping training missions up-to-date have a pretty high priority, not only for new people but also for those of us who revisit a module after a few years of not flying it?

Thanks!

This! Please!

Maybe open it up to talented Mission Builder users and have their missions incorporated into the game (after review of course) and give them some rewards like is done for Livery competitions.
