Hi, hope you can help, really desperate to get this sim and want to know before I buy if it will run on my Advnet 6555 laptop.

Spec-wise:

Quad core Q9000 (2.00GHZ)

MOBILITY 4850 (512MB)

4 GIG RAM (DDR2)

It runs Crysis,Fallout 3 and Empire Total War all on High or V/High but have heard this is a real killer to run.

Do you reckon it will get on Med/High setting?

Thanks in advance

Graphics is not a problem with this game, I expect you'll have it running on high. (I have a laptop with a GeForce 8600 with just 256MB, and that old crap managed to run the graphics on maximum with no issues.)

The bitch in Black Shark is CPU power. It really isn't designed for multicore, but same mentioned laptop is a 2GHz core2 duo and it runs the game acceptably. If you run vista there is a tweak that will do wonders and allow you to give BS a bit of advantage from the extra cores.

But even if not, your machine should definitely be able to handle it, though with only 2GHz on the clock, don't expect FPS in the 60-80 range.

Thanks EtherealN, what is the tweak for Vista?

Good news on the graphic front if I can achieve around 40/50 I will be really pleased.:smilewink:

Hitman's link brings you to the DCSMax utility made by Skypat, it is awesome and gives you the "affinity tweak".

As a side note btw, you will note some variance in FPS. For example, my machine below will reliably give 60-100FPS if I disable V-sync, but there are a few circumstances where it will go below 30. Emphasis on few though, and it's usually caused by there being Stalingrad style congestion going on below me. :P

So performance will vary, but you should definitely be able to get a good experience out of that laptop.
