Shaki Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Scenario 1: F16 and F18, airstart. both setup as members in editor, F18 with DL pod and Targeting pod, F16 with targeting pod, we were able to see each other on the F16 HSD and F18 SA pages, and the F16 could designate the F18 in the HSD and get the dashed line to the F18 in the helmet display. Scenario 2: Same as Scenario 1, only added Mk82's to the F16 to get more A2G functionality, but this time the F18 can no longer see the F16 on the SA page, while the F16 could still see the F18 in the HSD, but the F16 could not "designate" the F18 on the HSD, to get the dashed line in the Helmet display to him.f16_f18_datalink_test-20240129-222456.trk f16_f18_datalink_test-20240129-224132.trk
ED Team Lord Vader Posted January 30, 2024 ED Team Posted January 30, 2024 Hi @Shaki I think when you say "designating" you're referring to the PDLT function. I observed your tracks but they are a bit inconclusive. We did, however, test the same conditions in an MP session and were not able to reproduce the issue. Both aircraft saw each other on the HSD/SA pages and we were able to perform PDLT on the F-16. Do bear in mind, though, that the F-18 takes a bit longer to populate the contacts than the F-16. Were you hosting an MP session? Or was this a dedicated server? Also, if your F-18 can't see the F-16 via datalink, then this needs to be observed on the F-18 perspective too. We would also need the track from that bird to understand what's going on. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
