Laser designation doesn't offset target points

The thing is that when creating mark points with aircraft like the hornet and the warthog, if you do it while designating a target with the laser, you can point the TGP to the target instead of the ground below it. The laser  designation brings that offset data to the mark point. You can easily see this when you point, for example, the hornet's TGP to a target and laser designate, it changes the coordinates. The harrier does not change and I've noticed the f-15 does not change it too. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and would appreciate any help. I know that the workaround is as simples as pointing the TGP to the ground, but if someone could point me in the right direction if I'm doing some mistake or confirm that's the way it works I'll be satisfied.
