nikoel Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 (edited) Hey Team Hope someone can have a look at the issue I had during one of the default missions that comes with the AH64. The SAMs never engage or try to lock me or my wingman during the Nevada mission 'SAM Evasion". Even in direct line of sight. I flew directly at one at the end with no response. Maybe an activation trigger somehow broke? P.S. I got the audio through the comms that the SAM Site has become active Track File Attached All the best, ah64D Sam Ev .trk Edited February 17, 2024 by nikoel
BJ55 Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 Open the mission in the editor and save it without modifications, then it will work, a lot of missions need to be resaved. I7-12700F, 64GB DDR4 XMP1 3000MHz, Asus Z670M, MSI RTX 3070 2560x1440 60Hz, TIR 5, TM WH VPC base, TM rudder, Win10 Pro
ED Team Lord Vader Posted February 21, 2024 ED Team Posted February 21, 2024 Hi @nikoel The purpose of this specific mission is to train SAM avoidance and it's carefully tailored to allow you to do just that. When you pass the SA-13, if you follow strictly the route given you can avoid it entirely by flying low over the route. The same can be done if you fly strictly towards waypoint 5 and engage from the hills. You'll be able to mask from the SA-6 on your right side, and easily defend from the SA-8 on your 12. It's all choreographed to allow you to train using terrain to avoid SAMs. Now if you don't follow the route as you do on your track, of course you'll miss the triggers and conditions. The SA-6, for example will not activate at all if you overfly it. Maybe you were expecting something harder or more challenging, I'm not sure. But I'm not seeing an issue with this mission as it is. Thanks. That makes sense Yeah, you’re right. I was expecting the SAMs to engage at will and wanted to practice getting shot at Then try to use terrain masking whilst simultaneously engaging an enemy force. I did initially follow the waypoints as laid out on the TADs but when they did not engage decided to investigate further All the best Edited February 22, 2024 by nikoel 1
