Hold modes still a mess with new update..

Can be in perfect trim and stable. Then engage hold mode and still get oscillations. When trimmed at a hover, engage hold mode, and aircrafts rocks all over the place before stabilizing. When cruising and in trim, engage hold mode, and aircraft rolls to the right, yaws back and forth, or pitches down/up- this one happens half the time. Other times it stays in place as it should. When disengaging hold modes, the aircraft is goes way out of trim and must be corrected immediately.  Please hot fix and don't make us wait another 2 months.

Can you please make a short trackfile of it? I personally find the stability very good since the last patch.

Now it's feels softer in position correction, but still requires from a pilot a bit too much attention to get him into HH regime.

First impressions after the update are positive, I can engage all the hold modes after stabilising in a hover ( a feat that is not easy for me do anyway), also better in the cruise.

George AI as a pilot can now bring the aircraft to a steady hover so I can hit targets without having to use LMC or IAT.

I think that the aircraft has to be trimmed properly before any of the hold modes can be effective(as stated multiple times in multiple threads).

Overall I've found the FM to be better after this update.

This is strange, these kind of problems were very common some patches ago.

Things that might be interesting to investigate:

1) Are you running DCS under the latest patch?

2) Can be a problem of duplicated controls;

3) What are your settings under the Special Tab? In CLYCLIC TRIMMER MODE I use INSTANT TRIM (FFB FRIENDLY). For some time I used the "Central Trimmer Mode" but couldn't get used to it. Anyway, if you don't have a Force Feedback joystick, then you need to use one of these modes. What may be happening is that you are using the "Joystick without Springs and FFB" mode. In this mode trim does not hold at a position, because it follows the position of the real life joystick. The software is assuming that you are using a FFB joystick, that holds its physical position once TRIM is pressed and released.

That may be the origin of the oscillations, because you assume you are trimmed, engages the HOLD modes, but once releasing the joystick, it gets back to its center position and then the SAS tries to compensate for the sudden movement, causing the oscillations.

Anyway, I'm assuming a lot here, that you are not really in trim, and using the "wrong", i.e. inadequate, CYCLIC mode in the Special Mode. Please, bear with me, because I'm trying to help you find a solution to the problem. The things you described are not a common complaint these days, HOLD modes seem to be working fine.

I also still experienced the exaggerated corrections after enabling ATT Hold while in a trimmed hover, before finally stabilizing and being rock steady.

And when disengaged, the sudden change in attitude that needs corrective input with the cyclic to stay in position.

No, I don’t have a track file from that last MP session. If I can grab a short track next time, I will.
