TheConqueror Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 (edited) Hello friends, I bought myself a Meta Q3 1 week ago.And I just solved some problems and there are still some problems. I hope you can help me. First of all, the problem I solved was this; I couldn't connect to PCVR with Oculus' desktop application. When I tried to start it, it remained on the 3-dot loading screen. I worked hard to solve this and it was solved very simply as follows; I reinstalled the currently updated and installed graphics driver from the location shown in the picture in Nvidia's GeForce Experience Application. And bingo! Now I can connect via Air Link. Ā My problems are these: - If I turn on the SSAO option in the game, FPS remains constant at 30. And I can read the texts in the cockpit very easily. (60 FPS if the option is off) -If I connect via SteamVR, there is no sound from VR's own headset. Even though I chose the default device as oculus. -Also, sometimes in VR the screen shakes for 3-5 seconds. (I think due to air link connection) My questions are as follows: -What happens if I set the graphics setting to 120Hz and the highest resolution on Oculus? Because I didn't feel a big difference in the game. -What is OpenXr? What is OpenVr? And what do they do? Ā My computer's features: -I7-12900K -RTX 3080 -32 GB Ram (90GB Virtual) Ā Edited March 19, 2024 by TheConqueror

Now most likely your PC just canāt manage to get 120FPS so motion reprojection kicks in at half rate (60 FPS). When you activate SSAO your PC canāt even deliver the 60 FPS and MR reverts to quarter-rate (30FPS). Yesā¦because you never managed to get 120FPS in the first place maybe. It all depends on the map and scenario, but I would say highest res and 120Hz is a bit bold for a 3080. vor 1 Stunde schrieb TheConqueror: What is OpenXr? What is OpenVr? And what do they Do? I donāt know, what exactly they do from a technical perspective, but most people probably agree that you should go with OpenXR. Maybe also consider getting the Link Cable.Ā And I would strongly recommend to use the 72Hz mode, since 72 FPS are easier to achieve. Open xr is the API (interface) by which DCS communicates with oculus app and your headset. You don't need to consider open VR. It is a legacy from earlier DCS versions.Ā I agree with Phantom711, you should set your headset to 72Hz and aim for 72 fps, OR 90 Hz and 45 fps with reprojection.Ā Cable is the better option than airline, but don't spend the full meta price. Look for a compatible one for a fraction of the price.Ā If you are not already aware there are some issues with oculus PC app v63 which is incompatible with DCS. And in the recommendations, they said tested cables had "good results". I don't know what "good" is vs their cable. I did test a 6ft Anker which tested at 1.5 Gbps and noticed in discussions people were getting 2.4Gbps with the Meta optical cable. None of this really made sense to me since 10 Gbps should be doable for any of the USB-C cables. It's possible my Anker cable is worn from use and a new one would have performed as well as the Meta cable. Also, the Meta Link Cable is very nice. Unlike my 10' copper USB 2 and 3 cables, it is very flexible which means its less bothersome when I'm using the HMD, especially for active games. Since my purchase though, I have decided I like Virtual Desktop better and don't bother with the cable at all, so in that sense, it was a waisted purchase. TheConqueror Posted March 30, 2024 Author Posted March 30, 2024 Does lowering the resolution of the game affect the performance of the game? or image quality? For some users the game window looks like a column in the middle of the screen. I tried it once, but it didn't look like that.
