2GvSAP_Dart Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'm a bit frustrated, as I cant' seem to force "Medium" scenes on players in the mission. I opened up the options and checked the Scenes box and set the drop down to Medium, and saved. However, this doesn't seem to over-ride the global options settings as per the manual. What am I missing?
Distiler Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Because you need to switch off the force global options before saving the missions. Also leave it off when being server and switch on/off all the options inside the map editor (don't let any blank), don't rely on global game options. That force global swith in game options gave me many headaches until I found what was happening. 2GvSAP_Dart Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Distiler, thank you for your response, but I'm a little confused. This is for single player. So I should check all boxes in map editor? Your English is way better than my Spanish!
Distiler Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) oh I thought it was for multiplayer. In single player you can use both, or global settings in options menu or set all options in the mission editor. But if you want others to play your single player mission, best way to enforce the settings you want for others to view is to set them all in mission editor, ensuring you have the globals turned off when saving the mission. Thou, if those players have the globals turned on, their settings will be enforced. It's a mess because single player and multiplayer UI are different. While single player UI plays a copy of the mission from /missions to /temp and edits the globals there, the multiplayer UI gets the mission directly from /missions.
