LastRifleRound Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 Right, I realize that, but earlier in this thread I was told I was wrong and this behavior had never been heard of before, and to post a track, and so I did....
nomdeplume Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 To my surprise, it yawed hard to the exact heading of my first waypoint and then stabilized there with no control input on my part. Had you trimmed at all before take-off? I normally trim when I'm lined up on the runway and have the three AP channels enabled. When I take off it maintains the heading I started with, regardless of whether I do a rolling or vertical take-off. When taxiing, I also trim whenever I change direction on the ground, as the HDG hold AP definitely seems to try to maintain heading even on the ground. The only bug I've really noticed is that the HDG hold AP keeps trying to return to the last trimmed heading, so if I'm changing course I usually switch it off until I'm pointing the right way then turn it back on (which resets its desired course) and I don't have any issues with it. Either that or I use the flight director. Looking forward to the patch though, as both methods are slightly inconvenient and I'm terribly lazy. :)
