Madman3353 Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 (edited) Have a question theoretically what should my FPS be with a quest 3 and a 7800x3d and 3060ti and 64GB ram range wise? I keep getting CPU bound in the counter and if I’m not mistaken the CPU should be far superior to the 3060TI. I’m getting 30 or so FPS it’s slightly better than my old 1070ti I was using, less stuttering but I have to turn on DLSS to make it more smooth. Is going from a 1070ti to a 3060ti with the same cpu that little of improvement or am I missing something? Edited March 31, 2024 by Madman3353
Oceandar Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Depend on graphics settings in dcs world. I have a computer system similar to the one you have and the VR I have is a Pico 4. My FPS is on the low setting between 40 - 60 FPSMy latency quite high is on 60-70 Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze

Oceandar Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 I'm not on my computer right now and I'm on GMT +7, sorry. It's pretty much on low on every area. Biggest impact on FPS are texture and shadow. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze
diego999 Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 You should be getting way more than 30 fps with a 3060ti, provided you find the right settings. Try these: I have reduced FoV, that's the great GPU saver at least in my case (I also have a 3060ti with a Quest 2). You have a very good CPU, so Quad Views could be a very nice option for you. With the settings posted above I'm able to mantain 72fps most of the time in VR, except when on the ground in crowded bases or flying above a big city.

With the textures on medium is the cockpit text readable without zooming? Also I’m using the link cable what setting are you using for the oculus app? I have the openXR toolkit as well.
diego999 Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 With a Quest 2 I can't tell between medium and high textures. Low is unreadable for me. I use link cable as well. Enconding bitrate and all those settings I leave at default. I use OpenXR Toolkit as well. With Turbo Mode and foveated rendering activated.

I will give those settings a try tomorrow. For some reason my tool kit isn’t pulling up in games as well as the force foveated and quad fov I have them both installed but I don’t see the render non render box In game so not sure if they are working or not.

I presume you are using oculus link cable. Are you using QVFR which is a separate tool to the foveated rendering in OXRTK? Make sure you are running open XR so that these can be enabled. You should be able to see the softer edges when QVFR is working. Ctrl F2 will activate the OXRTK control panel in sim.
