Map zoom settings not memorized

When using the F10 terrain map, rendering always starts fully zoomed in. This is quite useless. Thus I zoom out using the mouse wheel till I achieve a usable magnification.
But as soon as I leave the map for cockpit view (F1) and return to the map later, the magnification again is at 100 %.
DCS seems to forget the zoom level you set.

Any ideas? - Saving the desired map magnification in mission editor does not solve the problem.
