Corsair cpu water cooler runaway fans

I had no problem until I started running hot.  Now I can't control the fan speed.   I got the heat under control after reapplied paste.  Maybe a sensor gone bad in the cooler or MB ?  This ever happen to anyone?

perhaps xthe coolant level is low or an air bubble in the pipes?

Thanks, I switched with an older aio I had laying around, & it appears I have  a bad one.
