[Bug] Creating waypoint from map marker causes Jester UI to lock up/crash if mission has many map markers with long names

Experienced this bug primarily on the Nevada Through the Inferno - Red Flag Sandbox instant action mission. I was able to replicate this twice on the same mission on separate sessions. On missions with few or zero map markers, I didn't experience this issue.

Once the issue is caused, the Jester UI becomes completely unresponsive, not responding to any inputs or binds and staying even in the external view. The only way to reset it is by restarting the mission.

Do you happen to have the name of Map Markers available? One of them contains corrupt characters.

Perhaps you have the mission file available? Or a track? Or even know what to input to make it crash?

Not at this time no, but the mission I experienced this in is the Nevada Through The Inferno instant action mission included with the F-4E

It crashed for me as well, but with simple names. Like "Point 1", "Point 2", and "Point 3".

Thanks, we have fixed the issue for the upcoming patch.

It appears its a bug with some recursion in the menu "Edit flightplan ... Map Markers". The "Divert to ... Map Markers" menu is fine 🙂

I also noted that entering custom text identifiers such as WP22 when creating waypoints in the F10 map is not always available in the Jester submenu. Most of the time they are just listed as LL coords. I have seen them when editing a FP on occasion but not always. Would it have anything to do with other players setting some waypoints and then leaving the server?

Cheers for an AWESOME product!
