flyingscotsman Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 I have a HOTAS throttle & stick. I have always bound my speedbrake to the same button Forward/out, back/In (I know it may be the opposite in real life, but that's just logical for me, I press my car's brakes, forward.... Anyway, I can only get the brakes to deploy using the Keyboard, B,(Next) and even then the timing seems to have to be 'just right' to get this to work I can see the brake button on the in game throttle doing what it should. But try that with the HOTAS button, nothing happens. Have MFD buttons, set them up, says ok on the bindings, but nothing happens on the aircraft Changed to different buttons on the throttle, same thing...nothing. Is this some kind of timing issue with the throttle switches? Great aircraft, not got my muscle memory with some of the bindings, but that's old age and finger trouble All my other modules work fine with my current HOTAS Throttle, no problem with airbrakes
Kalasnkova74 Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 I had issues as well with the speedbrake keybinds. I totally stumbled on the solution by using a hat switch on my throttle to open and close. From what I can tell, the speedbrake is not a “click once -it opens” switch. It’s a graduated action where you hold the key to open until it’s fully deployed and hold the key again to fully close. (See why using the throttle hat switch paid off?) Using a momentary switch will just crack them open (and similarly crack them closed). When the speedbrake opens you’ll see a yellow caution light on the right telelight panel. Good luck on the remap!
Major Corvus Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 On my Warthog Hotas, I found that binding my throttle's speed brake button to the 'Speed Brake Aft' keybind seemed to work Kit: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO, ASUS 5090 ROG ASTRAL, 64 GB, Varjo Aero HMD running Open VR Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas, Thrustmaster Pendular rudder peddles MODS: Pretty much all of them
Solution flyingscotsman Posted May 25, 2024 Author Solution Posted May 25, 2024 (edited) Kalasnkova75 & Major Corvus, Thanks for advice, will try and find a button that fits, at least it proves I'm not going nuts! OK just done that and Major Corvus's answer works best for me, I'm used to using that button, although I use it the wrong way apparently, its just more natural, THANK YOU both for answering Edited May 25, 2024 by flyingscotsman it provided a resolution
